    Part of the NSAH team since 1999, Dr. Linda Axnick enjoys practicing preventative medicine as well as performing surgery. Along with her husband Dr. Whitney she spends her free time participating in dock diving and agility with their five dogs.

    Dr. Whitney joined the NSAH staff in 2012 when he joined his wife Dr. Linda Axnick and Lori Jensen in purchasing the hospital from Dr.Torhorst. Previously practicing at another hospital in town, Dr. Whitney was excited to join our team. He enjoys participating in agility and dock diving competition with their four dogs.

    Heidi Jahn

    Dr. Heidi Jahn has been with NSAH since 1991. She has a special interest in internal medicine and enjoys working up complicated cases. She loves her patients and they love her back. When not at work, Dr. Jahn enjoys reading, attending art fairs and spending time with her cats.

    A part of the NSAH family since 1992, Dr Arbas is now working part-time. He and his wife Anne have one son who is in college. They have a Golden Retriever and a cat.

    Dr. Torhorst is the founder and former owner of North Shore Animal Hospital, Dr. Torhorst brings a lot of experience to our hospital. He does surgery two mornings a week and is always happy to see clients that he has known for more than 40 years.

    Dr. Ayres-Ruud has been a part of our team since 1997. Due to her busy family life she currently works to fill in when other Doctors are out of the office. Chantil and her husband have three children, dogs, cats and horses.

    A member of the NSAH team since 1983, Lori started out as the morning kennel cleaner. She loves her job and feel fortunate to have such a great place to work. Lori and her husband Eric have 2 daughters, 3 Border Collies, 6 cats, 5 goats, 2 rabbits and a horse. In her free time Lori serves as a board member of H.O.P.E. Safehouse and Wisconsin Border Collie Rescue.

    Kim joined our staff in 1988. She and her husband Chuck have 7 cats. At the hospital we often refer to Kim as the cat whisperer because she has a special way with cats.

    Head Receptionist

    Alice has been a member of our team since 1990. In addition to working at NSAH she also is a trainer at the Greater Racine Kennel Club. She and her husband Glenn have a grown son. They live with three dogs. Alice trains and shows her dogs in agility and obedience.

  • Lindsay Soine
    CVT

    Lindsay worked at North Shore Animal Hospital in high school as a Kennel Technician and returned in 2009 after graduating from Arkansas State University. She is now one of our Certified Veterinary Technicians. Lindsay and her husband Chase have two children and several pet family members that include three cats; Caden, Beaker, Aliquot a three legged bottle fed baby and Bambi, a twelve year old Maltese mix. In her spare time, Lindsay enjoys crafting, artwork and spending time with her family and her pets.

    Veterinary Assistant

    Sue has lots of experience in the veterinary field and with animals and has been a team member at NSAH since 2010.  She and her husband Tim live on a farmette with their three children.  Besides, chickens, a cat and a dog, Sue has a herd of goats that she milks and several hives of bees.

    Joining the hospital in 2010, Vicki brought many years of 'dog' and training experience with her. She and her husband Bill have grown children and live with multiple dogs.

    Michelle joined our family in 2012.  She enjoys meeting our clients and patients and is especially good with our computer system. Her household includes multiple kitties.

    Receptionist

    Patti joined our NSAH family in 2012.  She brought experience from working at a couple other animal hospitals in the area. Patti and her husband John have two children abd an adorable grandson.  She also shares her life with threee dogs and a cat. In her spare time Patti enjoys competing in agility with her dogs.

    CVT

    Corrie joined our NSAH family in October 2013.  She came to us with lots of veterinary experience after having worked at another local veterinary hospital.  Corrie and her husband have a son and a dog.  In her space time Corrie enjoys running, spending time with her family and enjoying their cabin.

  • Jessica Benich
    Receptionist

    Jessica is receptionist at North Shore Animal Hospital and also manages a lot of our specialty pet food orders.  She has been part of our team since December of 2014.  Jessica is married with two children and several pets that include, chickens, two Lion Head Rabbits and a ten year old cat named Simon.  She enjoys reading and camping.

    Morgan has been with the NSAH team since 2016.

    Receptionist

    Michele is one of our receptionists and has been working at NSAH since August of 2016.  Michelle and her husband have two children; Haylee and Brandon and many pets in their family including a dog, a cat, two rabbits, hermit crabs and fish.  Michele’s has a passion for all animals but especially enjoys riding horses.

    Madi has been with the NSAH team since 2017.

  • Kirsten
    Kennel Technician

    Kirsten has been with NSAH since 2017.  When Kirsten isn’t making our patients feel comfortable during their stay, she enjoys photography, reading and spending time with her pets; Dash a twelve year old Miniature Dachshund and Koda a seven year old Border Collie.

    Veterinary Technician

    Kelsey joined our team in January of 2017.  She has several pets that she considers her kids including four cats; Bailey, Raji, Sully and Puzzle, two dogs; Rylee a Red Heeler mix, Tito a Chihuahua mix and a Painted Horse named Rolie that just turned 22 years old.  Kelsey has been riding and showing horses since she was a young child.

    Amanda joined the NSAH team as a Kennel Technician in September of 2017.  She graduated from UW-Parkside and is training to become an EMT.   Amanda enjoys the outdoors, hiking, camping and fishing and spending time with her two Labradors; Remington and Ruger.

    CVT

    Sue joined the NSAH in July of 2018 but has been working as a Certified Veterinary Technician since 1973.  She has two Border Collies; Relay and Bizzy who are agility champions.  Sue enjoys training and attending for agility competitions in her spare time.

  • Alyssa Reuter
    CVT

    Alyssa graduated as a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2012 and joined the NSAH team in September of 2018.  Alyssa has two cats that are like her kids to her.  Rashad is nine years old and Sabrina is a six year old Siamese mix.  She also enjoys spending time with horses and used to compete in rodeos.

    CVT

    Courtney joined the NSAH team as a Certified Veterinary Technician in October of 2018 after moving from Austin, TX with her girlfriend, Angie.  She has twelve years experience in the animal health care field.  She has two dogs; Hazel an Aussie mix and a Pug named Winston as well as two Bengal cats; Leo and Romeo and a tabby named Henry and lots of Geckos.  Courtney enjoys nature and loves all animals, but reptiles also hold a special place in her heart.

  • Chris Kuras
    Receptionist

    Chris joined the NSAH team in November of 2018. She recently moved back to Wisconsin with her husband and their pets; Kevin a seven year old Retriever mix and their cats, including Waldo, a special needs cat with CH (Cerebellar Hypoplasia). They also have two grown children. Chris has been working for Veterinary Clinics and has been volunteering and fostering with animal rescue organizations for more than thirty years.  She especially has an affinity for cats and opened Ohio’s first cat café, Eat, Purr, Love Cat Cafe.  Chris is one of our receptionists and also helps with our social media and marketing.
